The Executive Committee for Expanding the Scope of the Sharjah Healthy City Program held its fourth meeting today, Monday, at the headquarters of the Sharjah Health Authority, to discuss developments related to the cities and regions of the emirate covered by the program, as well as review the new identity and logo of the program, which reflects future trends towards developing a sustainable health environment in Sharjah.
The approved identity represents an integrated vision that reflects the emirate's commitment to achieving a comprehensive and sustainable health environment for all its residents. The logo also embodies the core values on which the program is based, such as innovation, community cooperation, and interest in health and well-being, and expresses Sharjah's commitment to implementing the highest international health standards.
The logo symbolizes the shift towards more sustainable and health-resilient cities, as it reflects the green nature and distinctive environment that the emirate seeks to enhance in its various cities and regions, in line with future aspirations in the fields of public health and sustainable development.
The Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah approved the establishment of the Sharjah Healthy Cities Network with the aim of mobilizing the efforts of various concerned sectors to achieve sustainable development goals in the field of health, by including representatives of government and private entities. The network also seeks to enhance community participation to ensure the integration of efforts and achieve the desired positive impact on the health and well-being of society. This programme is part of Sharjah’s vision to build a sustainable environment that provides a high quality of life for all residents of the emirate.
All cities and regions of the emirate of Sharjah have been included in the Healthy Cities programme, namely: Dibba Al Hisn, Al Madam, Maliha, Al Bataeh and Al Hamriyah, in addition to the previously registered cities: Khorfakkan, Kalba and Al Dhaid. This expansion aims to include all areas of the emirate within the programme to achieve health and well-being.
His Excellency Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Sharjah Health Authority and Chairman of the Executive Committee for Expanding the Scope of the Sharjah Healthy City Programme, pointed out that the new logo represents an important step in the programme’s journey, as it translates our ambitious vision to promote public health and provide a sustainable healthy environment for all residents of the emirate. The new logo is not just a visual symbol, but rather an expression of our firm commitment to innovation and community cooperation to achieve the highest standards of health and safety.
Dr. Al Muhairi pointed out that the success achieved by Sharjah to date in the field of public health is a strong motivation to continue the expansion, stressing the role of local authorities in achieving this through joint work and providing continuous support. He also touched on the importance of following up on the implementation of all standards required by the World Health Organisation according to the highest levels of quality.
The Executive Committee affirmed its determination to continue working hard to achieve the objectives of the “Sharjah Healthy City” programme, by agreeing to organise a series of awareness initiatives and campaigns aimed at enhancing public health standards and the sustainability of a healthy environment throughout Sharjah.
